Happy New Year!

Hey bloggies.

Wow, I feel like I haven't talked to you all in a long time. I have sad news to report on my weight loss journey... I am pretty sure I gained weight. I haven't done my official weigh in for like two weeks and then I have been nervous to get on here and report that to you.

But what is the point of me blogging to you all about my weight loss? The fact is, it's a journey. I will have ups and downs. As long as I stick with it, I will reach my goal weight and stay there. Today I hopped on the treadmill for a mile or a mile and a half-ish. I was having some technical difficulties with the machines and decided to ease my way back into it all.

Tomorrow David and I are going to work out together and I cannot wait! :) With tonight being New Years Eve, tomorrow will jump start our weight loss journey for 2012 and we WILL reach our weight by this time next year. I can't wait!

What are your resolutions? What are you hoping to do or change to better yourself? :)

I hope you all had a merry Christmas and have a great New Year!

Talk to you in 2012! :)

Well, this could be interesting...

Hello friends. I hope you all are having a wonderful week leading up to CHRISTMAS! Can you even believe its already here? I'm having a hard time with the fact that it's almost January. Where has the time gone?!

I have definitely not been working out like I should be. I'll just say it and put it out there. I don't want to use it as an excuse but my sister came back in town, I had my birthday, David's folks are in town for the holidays, I am working overnights (10:30 pm to 7:00 am is B-R-U-T-A-L), and I am sick.

Lots of stuff to keep me from the gym. I am still trying to work on portion control and how many calories I am ingesting; however, I know I need to get back in the gym. I might try and go today if I can muster up some energy. The congestion from my cold last week hit me last night and I am suffering from it. So gross.

I do have some things I need to accomplish around the house like cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, and so on so that will help burn some calories. Burn them where I can, right? :)

On an unrelated note to working out, Ali came home! It was SO good and I literally thought my heart was going to explode I was so anxious to see her walk out of the airport gate and into the civilian area. So, so, exciting. Needless to say, there was a LOT of jumping and screaming.

Right before Ali came out, a solider walked through and was reunited with his family. He didn't look much older than me, and his family and girlfriend just lost it when they saw him. Which of course, made my whole family choke up. I doubt any service men or women will read my blog, but I will say it anway: Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice so we can enjoy our freedoms in America. :)

The whole thing was so touching. :)

My birthday was a blast too! It was a little weird not celebrating on my actual birthday because Ali wasn't flying in until just after 11 p.m. David did surprise me with red Toms, a 50-minute massage and a 50-minute facial. They were heavenly, although I was disappointed in my massage because the gal kept talking to me the.entire.time. Not relaxing but still enjoyable I guess.

Jumping to another topic: working overnights. I am on three of five and it is tough. My sleep is all messed up (yesterday I slept for 12 hours, today I slept for six). It's been a lot to get done at work each night but it is going smooth at least. Praise the Lord.

Overall it's been a busy time of year for the Greens. Lots going on and lots of family memories to be made.

Merry Christmas everyone! :)

DOWN 3.6 POUNDS!!!!

Today I woke up to a birthday surprise!
I have lost 3.6 pounds!!!
:)
I can see the hard work I am putting in paying off and it's really exciting and motivating to keep going!

David has lost...

wait for it...
6.5 POUNDS!
I am so proud of us both and can't wait to see what we weigh next week!

Have a great day everyone! I am getting pampered today for my birthday. An hour long massage and an hour long facial! :) Needless to say, I have the BEST husband EVER!!

So tired

Hello friends,

My sweet husband seemed to have passed his cold on to me. I am trying to fight it but I feel like I have a fireball in my throat.

I did manage to go to the gym today. I only did 15 minutes of intervals on the treadmill and 100 crunches. Not a huge day at ALL, but, considering I feel like poop, it's not too bad. :)

I did have one slice of pizza at work today. I resisted the urge to take more TWICE because pizza is my absolute weakness. Gosh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Thankfully, when I went in for a second slice my friend stopped me. It's really encouraging to have people hold you accountable. Especially on days where you have hot, fresh, greasy, pepperoni pizza sitting in front of you.

Sheesh. I'm torturing myself thinking about it now, haha!

On an unrelated note, my birthday is in 3 DAYS and my sissy pants comes home then too!

I refuse to be sick on my birthday so I'm off to rest.

Have a great night everyone! Stay warm. It's like 10 degrees out (not really, but it feels like it for sure). :)

BodyBugg?

Good evening fellow bloggers! I hope you all have had a good start to your week! Mine has been really good so far... minus the fact that my sweet husband shared his sore throat with me. :) I'm determined to fight it off though. There is NO getting sick on your birthday and my birthday is in FOUR days!!! I am just a *bit* excited, if you can't tell. Partly because I will turn 22, but also because my sister returns from her four month trip to Germany! Whoo hoo!

I worked out today and yesterday and have been feeling really great about it all. I have seen some changes on the scale too (whoo hoo!) but don't want to report anything on here until my official Saturday weigh-in. :) We'll see if it really is as good as it seems.

I found a new website you guys should check out! It's called Loseit. I don't even remember how I found it, but it's free and it has been a great resource. You can enter in your weight and personal information and everything and it tells you (based on the info you put in) how many calories are healthy for you to eat a day based on your goals.

I said my goal is to lose two pounds a week (ambitious, I know) so it says based on my current weight and goal weight, I should attain my goal on July 18, 2012.

My original goal was to be my goal weight by June 1. Although I'm still aiming for that date, I'll take July 18th too. As long as I can reach my goal, I will be a happy camper. :)

Speaking of that, I was thinking about possibly saving money for a BodyBugg. I've heard really great things about them, but would love to hear your input on them. Any thoughts? Anything comparable that you think might be better? :) I'm open to ideas.

Anyway, I am going to go do some leg exercises while I watch Gossip Girl. Have a great night everybody!

Definitely trying this...

Seems fairly easy enough. 10x100? I don't know if there's any truth to it, but I'll let you know in a week! :)

Update: I've done two sets. I'm dying. Haha, way harder than I thought but I'm still going to try it!

Down TWO(ish) POUNDS!

Yesterday, I had my official Saturday morning weigh in! And the results were.... dadadadadadadada (drum roll)

I'VE LOST 1.8 POUNDS!

I am really excited about this and it only motivates me to lose more! My goal is to drop more than one pound a week, but hey! It's better than gaining a pound a week!

David is still sick so he's not been able to work out as much. I decided I am going to start working out Monday through Friday for an hour and a half each day. I read that Gywenth Paltrow does that and look at her! Two babies later and she still rocks a bikini. She's clearly on to something... :)

Now I'm off to grocery shop and finish cleaning the house. I meal-planned the next two weeks so I'm going to store on a mission! I highly suggest this, as it makes it easier to know exactly what you are there to shop for. I know I'm not the only one that goes in for a gallon of milk and comes out with a gallon of milk, ice cream, some odds and ends for the home and a new shirt. ;)

If you have any good ideas for meals (Crock-pot ideas especially) pass them my way! I'd love to make a few new things, especially because I'm pretty sure I only know how to make 14 dinners. I'll be desperate for new ideas in two weeks! Haha

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Off and On

Hello bloggies. It has been an interesting week at the Green household! David and I both came down with a cold so working out has been a little tough. Luckily, it didn't hit me too bad, but poor David wasn't so lucky. Hopefully he'll start feeling better soon!

I have been doing pretty good with my working out though. I have read it takes two weeks or so to make something a habit, so tomorrow my working out is officially a habit! Well, sort of. I guess that takes motivation from me to continue, but I assure you, I am still motivated!

I am a little nervous for my weigh-in tomorrow. I have been Shredding (Jilian Michael's workout DVD) which is really tough but it makes me feel so good after. That girl sure knows what she's doing. David did the Shred with me and he was yelling at the screen saying how stupid she was and how he didn't like her and stuff because it was so tough. It cracked me up. Haha, her workouts are intense, but it was worth it.

I even did Level 2 yesterday; although, partway through my knees really started bothering me so I had to modify a lot to not hurt them further.

Today I went and walked on the treadmill for a half an hour. I wore my party pants (yoga pants) but I didn't wear compression pants underneath. Unfortunately, my legs rub together and it's not a pleasant feeling after a while. I'm sure some of you know what I am talking about... :)

Tomorrow I hope I can work out really hard. It's been a long week all around so I'd like to really step it up in the gym.

How's your workouts going? I feel SO encouraged hearing I've inspired some of you to start your own workouts. I can't wait to hear about your results! Blog about it! :) Send me the link and I'll keep up to date with your weight loss journey too!

On an unrelated note, I am getting really excited for next Saturday. For those of you who don't know... It's my 22 birthday!! I love birthdays, but I can already tell this one is going to be amazing. My twin sister, who has spend the last four months in Germany, is coming home! Can you say, one of the most awesome birthday presents ever?! I'm sure there will be lots of jumping and screaming and hugging.

Also! You should check out this video my husband made. It's of our niece meeting our nephew for the first time. :) It's really sweet.

Five Questions!

My sister-in-law always finds fun things to post like surveys and recipes. Although this is meant to be "Five Question Friday," I am just now seeing these questions and thought I would try it. So, for this week, it's Five Question Saturday... :)

1. What is your favorite Christmas decoration in your house?
Right now, all our decorations are sitting in the corner... not put up. Haha, we haven't had time to set up our tree or anything, but I am looking forward to doing so tomorrow. For sure my favorite decoration is the tree, but more specifically a bronze star ornament I got to choose off my grandma and grandpa's Christmas tree after my grandpa passed away. It was my grandma's way of keeping him around each Christmas.

2. Do you finish your Christmas shopping early or are you a last minute type? I always get my shopping done early. I am pretty much done by the first week of December every year.

3. When do you turn on your heat? When I am cold! Haha, I HATE being cold. I could never live somewhere that doesn't have warm weather. I usually will sit in front of the heater whenever I'm cold with a blanket and use it as a sort of tent over the heater vent to warm up my whole body. I try and be good and keep it off so we don't have such a high PGE bill, but let's be honest, it's FREEZING outside so it must be done.

4. Do you ever wish your blog was private? At this point, no. Although I would like to be able to post what I wanted or thought without feeling like I might be judged or something.

5. Do you put your deodorant on before of after you put on your shirt? After. I have a tendency of getting the lovely white lines all over the place otherwise. :)

Down ONE POUND!

Today marks the one week point for me and my weight loss journey. So far, it's been going well. I can tell that I am getting back in shape. I did the treadmill today for another hour (burned 347 calories and walked 3.4 miles), but I am able to walk faster than before without feeling like I was going to keel over. This is really exciting to me. I feel like I am getting more and more toned, especially my back and legs.

I could be making that up, but hey, it's encouraging and motivating to see these changes taking place.

Plus, I lost ONE POUND! Although it's not a huge Biggest Loser type of weight loss--they usually lose like 10 pounds each week), it's a step in the right direction and I.am.thrilled.

It may take me longer than June 1 to get to my goal weight, but I will go as long as it takes.

David and I are changing our lives for the good by working out and that is SO encouraging and exciting. :)

Plus! I added a little weight loss ticker at the top of my blog. I know it looks like it's DOS or something, but hey, it works. Now you can see my weight loss go up or down accordingly. :)

I would love any encouragement, advice, or motivation you have. Have YOU lost weight? What worked for you? What didn't? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Well.

Hey bloggy friends. Is anyone else FREEZING?! I feel like all of the sudden Oregon decided it was going to be winter weather, without the snow. I am so cold and can't seem to warm up. No fun at all. Give me a beach, 80 degree weather and a light breeze and I am set for life.

Yesterday I got home from work and was really down. David and I got our final loan statements from our school loans so we know exactly how much we owe. Let me tell you... the number is staggering.

David put himself through school (privet school at that) and he accumulated a lot of loans. That being said, I called my parents and basically bawled on the phone to them about how I am so worried about paying the loans off.

I did a lot of research, made phone calls, created an official "we-have-to-stick-to-this-or-we-won't-eat-anything-but-Top-Ramen-for-the-next-ten-years" type budget and talked everything over with David, and felt better.

Not better enough to work out hardcore. I was so emotionally drained, it was not good.

Instead, I did a light arm workout... I figured it can be my "rest day."

Today I compensated for yesterday though and walked for an hour and a half on the treadmill. Flipping on Ellen and walking makes working out really easy.

I walked 4.9 miles and burned 520 calories.

Not too bad if you ask me.

I am going to give you an official weigh in report on Saturday. I figured I would do it once a week and see how that goes.

I did weigh myself yesterday morning though and I had LOST A POUND.

Yippeeee!!!

We'll see how Saturday goes though, especially with my rest day yesterday.

How's your weight loss journey going? If you aren't doing one, I would encourage you to do so. I feel so much healthier just knowing I am doing things to reach my goal weight.

Challenge yourself.

I dare you.

Day 4: Hunchback of Notre What?!

Today is day four and I can happily say I am not as sore as I thought I was going to be. Which is good and bad. Soreness means I'm working hard, but soreness also makes me look something along the lines of this guy...

For those of you who don't know, this is Igor from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Only one of my favorite movies of ALL time
It's weird. Working out is all I can think about right now. At work, I secretly do calf raises and shoulder circles. I'm weird, I know.

But hey, this is the right mindset I should have. I would rather be excited and looking forward to putting in an hour in the gym than running in the other direction.

Give it time. I'm sure there will be days that I am complaining at the thought of getting out of my warm, comfy bed, and going to the gym.

It's only a matter of time. :)

Since my workout is done earlier in the day, I am going to have some blackberries for a snack, then clean the house, wrap Christmas presents, and do a variety of other odd jobs.

Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying the holiday season! Can you believe Christmas is so soon? Speaking of that... my 22nd birthday is in 18 days! Yeeeeeee! :)

Now to leave you with some motivation:

An effective advertisement...

Sorry for the language, but I think Nike said it better than I could.

Except replace a** with "buns," "rump," "bottom," "backside," "butt," "hot crossed buns..."

Whatever works for you. Hahahaha... :)

Day 2 and 3: Crippled but loving it

Today is day three of my weight loss journey. I didn't blog about this before because I wasn't certain, but David is working out with me too! He wasn't sure when he wanted to get started but he agreed that now is as good of time as any! :) It is SO nice to have someone to work out with. I love being able to high five and cheer him on, and it's great to feel encouragement from him, especially when I'm sweaty and gasping for air. If you are planning on starting your own work out journey, I highly encourage you to find someone to work out with. The encouragement and accountability is amazing.

Anyway.

Yesterday was our first day working out together in too long. We both plugged in our iPods and went marching along on the treadmills. I read something on Pinterest (I'm totally obsessed with that site) and I actually found it to hold some truth (although I don't know if it really is or not).

On Saturday I did 7.9 miles on the stationary bike and 2.1 miles on the treadmill for a total of 10 miles. Well, in the 7.9 miles I did I burned 3 less calories than I did walking briskly on the treadmill for 2.1 miles. That means I could pedal my life away on the bike, or walk on the treadmill and burn about the same.

I may be tweaking my work out routine to accomodate this new find.

My goals right now are to do legs and abs every other day and on the days in between do arms and abs.

Let's face it. My abs need the most attention so they get double the exercise.

Today David and I went again, which was great. He jumped on the treadmill and walked a couple miles while I did 8 miles on the bike and KILLER abs. I'm serious when I say I probably won't be able to stand up straight tomorrow, but hey, I'm getting toned and healthy and that's what matters.

Even if I look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame...

:)

Day 1: The beginning of my weight loss journey.

You ready for me to get real on you? I'm going to do something I've never really done before: allow myself to be vulnerable to you all. So here it is. Jenny Green: plain and simple.

I have always been an athlete. I started gymnastics when I was in kindergarden. I remember going to some elementary school gym and trying to learn how to do a somersault on the balance beam, which to this day I still can't do a somersault. I always think I am going to snap my neck off or something so I kind of just flop to the side inside of rolling completely over. Pitiful I know, but it's the truth.

One day my mom approached my twin sister and I and said we should try soccer, but if we didn't like it, we could come back to gymnastics. I think this memory sticks out in my mind because it was the first promise I think my mom made me.

Mom's always know what they're talking about, FYI.

I started playing soccer and never looked back.

I played YMCA indoor soccer until third grade, until I started playing volleyball. I'm not sure why I switched but my love for volleyball lasted through my freshman year of college.

So did my love for basketball and my love for running track.

I was a three sport athlete for six years (which really means a year round athlete for six years). I won various awards for MVP and Most Inspirational and was voted captain for different seasons.

Sports were my life, and probably my first non-human love.

Playing sports through high school, and then getting involved with intramural at George Fox University meant I spent about 15 years of my life involved in athletics and working out.

So when I stopped due to knee injuries, my body changed, fast.

It's something I've struggled with, especially because I am an identical twin. I know that's silly, but unlike non-twins, I always have someone to compare myself to. I know we are different people and everything, but for some reason I always thought I had to look exactly like Ali, because we are twins.

Ali didn't do anything wrong and I love her SO much, it was just a mindset that I had for a while.

I am coming to terms with the fact that I am exactly who I am supposed to be though. I am exactly how God designed me. I am His masterpiece. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am passionate. Caring. Loving. Selfless. I am Jennifer Green. I am ME.

That being said, I know I can be better with my weight. I don't want my knee injury to hold me back and cause me to have health problems or issues down the road. Fast forwarding my life, I don't want to be 100 pounds heavier, wishing I took advantage of the time I had to work out before I got to that point.

So today I changed that.

I weighed in this morning and saw a horrifying number staring back at me on the scale. Horrifying, yet motivating.

I spent about an hour or so in the gym today. I did 7.9 miles on the stationary bike and walked 2.1 miles on the treadmill. I know with my knees I can't run so these are really great alternatives. I did a mixture of abs and arms in there and now I am feeling great. I can tell I'll be sore, but it's worth it.

Anyone else in this boat?
I read somewhere that, "The thing about reaching your weight loss goal is that it's 100% possible. It's completely in your control. The only thing from stopping you from getting there is you. So get out of the way."

This is really true in my case. My knees have been a sort of scape goat. But that ends today. My horrifying weight ends today.

Today I begin a weight loss journey that will change my life forever.

Hold on your hats ladies and gentlemen. This is going to be a wild ride.

Spontaneity

My Dad always told my sisters and I we weren't allowed to marry someone that won't dance with us in the kitchen. I often thank the Lord for bringing someone in my life who will literally dance with my anywhere.

David and I have always been romantics. I think one of my favorite things about him is that he is always trying to surprise me, make me smile, make me melt, and amazingly enough I am always trying to do the same with him too! :)

You know people say there's a honeymoon stage where everything is happy and perfect and there are rainbows and unicorns and stuff. Well, David and I have been together for almost three years (dating/engaged/married) and that feeling has not worn off.

Not to say we are the perfect couple, because we have disagreements just like any other couple. David said once, "In the morning it's point A and at the end of the day, it's point B. No matter what happens in between A and B, I will always love you more than when the day started." And that's how we try to live our lives. We can argue or disagree, but at the end of the day we both know we will love each other more than we did when we woke up.

*Happy sigh*

He's a keeper. ;)

I think spontaneity is a really key ingredient to a fun and happy marriage, at least for David and I. :) Like I said, we are always trying to surprise one another by showing up at each others' work, leaving notes for one another, surprising each other with gifts, and so on.

A couple days ago, David and I celebrated our 1.5 year anniversary! When he got home from work, he walked in with these:

Aren't they beautiful?!

We also decided to treat ourselves and stay one night at the Embassy Suites by the airport. We found that taking a weekend off together every other month or so is a great way for us to reconnect and recharge away from work and home.

We stayed at the airport Embassy Suites on our wedding night so it was fun to celebrate our 1.5 years there too! We got an awesome room with a view of the incoming planes. I love planes and seriously stood in front of the window for like a half an hour just watching the planes come in. It was so fun!

The hotel has a managers reception in their lobby where they serve free drinks and snacks for two hours. We went down and checked that out before heading, via the free shuttle, to Cascade Station. Although it was FREEZING out, we walked around and browsed some of the stores and had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. BWW is David's weakness. He loves that place! It was so fun though and we were able to take the shuttle back later when we were ready. It was so nice not to have to worry about parking or driving anywhere. We took our time and had a great time! :)

On a completely unrelated note. I discovered the amazingness that is Pinterest. I'm afraid I'm already developing a sort of obsession with the site. I love all the DIY stuff and some of the recipes look so delicious! So yesterday, I decided to copy an idea I saw off there...

I had the day off and decided to make David a meal using our Crock-Pot.

I really should use that thing more. What an easy way to cook! I ended up making maple whisky glazed beef brisket. It was really good, although it was a little spicy. David loved it though and requested I make it again soon! That must mean it was a success.

Before we ate though, David opened the door when he got home from work to see this!

How fun is this?! We had so much fun ducking and hiding behind the barriers I set up in the house. I was initially hiding under the kitchen table and ransacked him unexpectedly. If you ever want a fun way to surprise your guy, or even to just get exercise, here's a good way to do so. :)

Anyway, I hope all is well. Talk soon! :)

Happy Halloween!

Since David and I have been together, we have created our own little Halloween tradition. Each year, we attend some sort of corn maze together to celebrate the upcoming holiday. :) Although in the past we have gone to The Maize at Suavie's Island, the Groupon sold out faster than I had expected and without a Groupon, you are looking at a few hour long line to get into the maze.

So instead, we decided to go to a nearby farm here in Sherwood. We've been there a few times to look at the fruit and vegetables, but never for their corn maze. It was SO fun! It took us almost an hour to get through (at one point we thought were finished, but somehow we ended up back at the entrance and had to restart using the map, haha). It was SO much fun and it was such a fun little date. We even ended up going on a hay ride down to their pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin! We weren't going to get one, but we found the most perfect pumpkin ever and are going to paint it to put out for this weekend. Speaking of that... I need to go buy some candy... This is the first time we'll get to pass out candy! :)

Anyway, here are some pictures from our fun day at the maze. :)

Happy Halloween everyone!

Couponing Adventure #3!

I have to say, I feel like I am getting the hang of this coupon thing. I don't want to jinx myself, because I honestly feel like luck has been on my side, but still! :) I love seeing how much money I am saving David and I. It's like a little bonus paycheck when you think that you are still spending a certain amount, although you may pay a lot less.

Today I did a small couponing trip (at Target, of course!) and found a few really good things.

First of all, please excuse the HORRIBLE quality of this picture. My camera battery died so I had to take a picture using my cell phone camera. If you like taking pictures on your phone, I would not recommend buying a Go-Phone. I had a good camera on my phone and then I broke that phone, and my little Go-Phone has been my replace. Regardless...
Today's haul included:

1 box Garlic Texas Toast
2 two litres of Sierra Mist Naturals
2 bottles of Listerine Mouth Wash (one big one and a travel size)
5 boxes Crest 3D Whitening Toothpaste
2 Tubes Covergirl Lash Blast mascara (my favorite kind EVER. It makes your lashes look like the commercials, for real)
3 bottles of Every Man Jack products (David's face scrub and post-shave lotion)
1 box Lucky Charms
3 boxes Fruit Roll-Ups

Total # of items: 19
Total cost before discounts and coupons: $125.56
Total cost after discounts and coupons: $20.05

Average cost per item: $0.95

I am very pleased with the trip. I didn't get a ton of stuff, but I did get good deals. :) For example, my mascara is usually $7.49 ($7.29? maybe?) each tube, and I got two. Think of it this way...

$7.49 x 2 = $14.98

When I only spent 5.07 more than that for my entire purchase, it's a huge score. Without coupons and stuff, I would have only been able to buy my two tubes of mascara, one 2L of pop, and the
Listerine. Instead, I got all sorts of fun things. :)

I am noticing that there are a lot of great deals out there on cosmetic, cleaning supplies, and first aid type things. If you look at this post and the previous one about couponing, there is a lot of that sort of thing in there. One deal that is too good not to share that I figured out was the Listerine deal.

My Target store (Sherwood) has Listerine Zero Total Care two packs on clearance for 3.24. There is a coupon on Coupons.com for $2 off, PLUS there is a Target coupon stuck to the bottles for $1 off! That means I only paid $1.24 for a two pack of Listerine!

Scenario:

Buy 1 Listerine Zero Total Care double pack on clearance        $3.24
Use $1 off Listerine Zero Total Care product      -$1
Use $1 off Target coupon stuck to the package of the Listerine      -$1
Total cost: $1.24
(Usually $5.99)
:)

Make sense? Hopefully it does, if not feel free to ask me.

Good luck fellow couponers/aspiring couponers, until next time. :)

Happy Birthday Hubby! :)

I already posted about David's birthday (I think...) but on Saturday we finally got to go and do what David's birthday present was all about.

I'll give you a hint...

OOOOOOOO EEESSSSSSSSS UUUUUUUUUU!!!

:)

David and I went with my parents (for my dad's birthday present too) to the OSU vs. Arizona football game! It was David's first time going and it.was.amazing!

We left Gresham at like 8 and stopped at Don Pedro's for a breakfast burrito before beginning the trek to Corvallis. We were lucky enough to not have any traffic on the way there, and found a parking spot about two minutes from Reser Stadium. It was like one great thing after another!

We met up with my second cousin and their friends at their tailgate area and hung out for a bit before the game started. It was so fun to see so many Beaver fans in one spot at the same time.

When my mom and I originally purchased the tickets, we had NO idea that we were buying tickets so close! We ended up being in row seven, which actually was four rows up from the field. We kept walking further and further down and were laughing because we had no idea we had got such good seats. Yay for that pleasant surprise.

The game started and the Beavs went into half time up 30-6. It actually ended up being a pretty close game until the end (it was the Beavers FIRST win of the season!) and won 37-27. After the game, we were able to go onto the field and took some pictures.

We had such a good time and loved that we had great seats, amazing weather, good parking, good food and lots of time to just hang out with other Beaver fans.

Here are some pictures I took capturing the day:
